Celebrating Design Excellence in 2020
Congratulations to the students at Victoria University of Wellington's School of Design Innovation, on their success in a very challenging year.
For a number of years, Henry Hughes IP have sponsored prizes at the School's end-of-year exhibition, and are very proud to do so again this year. We have been very impressed with the standard of work on show at the rndr 2020 end-of-year exhibition.
This year we presented a prize for a project in Masters of Design Innovation. Reflecting on the challenges the students faced this year we found it particularly difficult to choose a winner. It is certainly apparent from the exhibition how much work has gone into every project, and the diverse ideas on display are a credit to the students and their teachers.
The winning project, titled Designing with Mycelium, was Elize Koetsier's investigation of an emerging material, fungal mycelium composites, which use fungi to produce natural polymers. Elize showed persistence in characterizing and working with mycelium to great effect. Congratulations Elize!
The winning project.
